Authorities have recalled approximately 213,500 Goody King magnetic building toys in the United States. The recall follows reports of ingestion risks which led to surgeries for at least two children.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a notice explaining the dangers. The construction cubes in these toys can break or open, releasing internal magnets. These magnets present a serious ingestion risk for children.
The commission warns that if high-powered magnets are swallowed, they may attract each other or metals inside the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting or blocking of the intestines, septicemia, or even death.
Up to this point, Yi Suen Commerce, the seller of Goody King, is aware of two cases where children ingested magnets that required surgical removal. The Hong Kong-based company also knows of at least 27 reports of broken or opened cubes. Consumers owning these magnetic toys should stop using them immediately. They should contact Yi Suen Commerce for a full refund. Details on affected model numbers and additional information are available in the CPSC notice and Goody King’s recall website.
Goody King provides answers in an online FAQ section. It states that prepaid shipping labels will be sent to customers who register for the recall. Refunds will be issued once the company receives the returned products. Receipts are not necessary.
The recalled toys were sold online via Amazon from January 2024 to July 2026. They featured a variety of themes for constructing 3D designs, including forests, dinosaurs, and unicorns. Sets ranged from 45 to 300 pieces, priced between $17 and $50.
