Johan Guerrero, a Colombian immigrant, was tragically killed by a federal immigration agent in Biddeford, Maine. His partner, Karolina Rojas, has spoken out urging the public to remember him for his dedication and love for his family, not for the circumstances of his death.
In an emotional news conference in Biddeford, Rojas described Guerrero, 25, as a tireless worker who always put his family first. She highlighted his devotion to their 3-year-old daughter, whose birth transformed him entirely. ‘The moment he knew he would be a father, his life revolved around ensuring his daughter, lovingly called gordita, never went without’, Rojas remarked tearfully.
According to Rojas, Guerrero cherished his role as a father, constantly working to provide for his little girl’s needs. His commitment to his family defined his life, and he never shied away from hard work to fulfill this responsibility.
Guerrero moved to the United States in 2023, seeking a better life for his family. Despite the tragic event that claimed his life, Rojas hopes Guerrero will be remembered for his relentless efforts to build a bright future for his loved ones.
While details about the shooting remain scarce, a spokesperson for Senator Angus King revealed Guerrero was not the intended target of the immigration operation. Guerrero was reportedly in his car heading to work when the incident occurred.
