Roller Coaster Evacuation at Six Flags Over Texas After Power Outage

Visitors at Six Flags Over Texas experienced an unexpected evacuation from the Titan roller coaster due to a power outage. This ride, a popular attraction at the Arlington, Texas, amusement park, stopped mid-course on Saturday, prompting safety protocols.

Video footage shared online highlights the tense moments as riders carefully descended a steep staircase attached to the coaster structure. The Titan stands approximately 245 feet tall and reaches speeds of up to 85 mph, according to park details.

Six Flags representatives identified the outage as an internal technical problem, affecting park operations, based on a report from Dallas-area station WFAA. Despite the incident, Six Flags resumed normal operations by Sunday.

“I could never get down from there, not at that height,” remarked one person online, reflecting widespread reactions to the footage.

Viewers’ responses varied. Some expressed fears about roller coaster safety, while others defended the rides as well-regulated. Concerns also arose about park-wide outages leading to inconveniences, including extended wait times and ride shutdowns.

The Titan, operational since 2001, is among Six Flags Over Texas’ notable attractions. Earlier this year, a similar evacuation occurred at Six Flags New England in Massachusetts due to a technical glitch. In that case, riders on Superman the Ride were navigated down an elevated section safely.

During such evacuations, park officials ensure trained staff escort all riders safely and maintain communication with guests. Six Flags Over Texas was reached for comment on the situation.
