Senator Marshall Criticizes Dr. Fauci Over COVID-19 Vaccine Messages

Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas has criticized Dr. Anthony Fauci following the release of text messages related to COVID-19 vaccine safety. The messages reveal concerns about vaccine effects on pregnant women, particularly regarding miscarriage risks.

Marshall accused Fauci of promoting the vaccine for pregnant women despite these concerns. The Senate Health Committee has referred Fauci to the Department of Justice for a potential investigation.

During a Fox News interview, Senator Marshall emphasized the need for a special counsel to handle the investigation, citing subpoena power and the ability to prosecute. “All Congress can do is expose the truth or try to expose the truth, which is hard to do when a guy takes the 5th 111 times,” Marshall remarked.

Marshall also proposed the possibility of a 9/11-style commission to review the situation. Currently, the decision to proceed rests with the Attorney General.

Marshall, a retired obstetrician, has frequently opposed Fauci’s guidance on COVID-19, questioning both the virus’s origins and vaccine policies.

“I asked around a bit more and another issue came up that you need to be aware of,” Fauci wrote in a January 2021 message. “Since many people have significant cytokines storm and fever after the 2nd dose, this theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.”

Despite these concerns, Fauci publicly claimed in February 2021 that there were no significant pregnancy-related issues linked to the COVID-19 vaccine, stating, “With thousands of women who are pregnant, having gotten the vaccine following the EUA [emergency use authorization], there have been no red flags of anything that anyone would be worried about.”

Dr. Fauci also highlighted the risks of severe COVID-19 infection for mothers and babies, arguing for the importance of vaccination for pregnant women.

The law firm representing Dr. Fauci has not responded to requests for comments.
