On Monday morning, a tragic shooting occurred at a senior assisted living facility in South Los Angeles. An employee at the facility opened fire, injuring three coworkers. The incident took place in the lobby near West 70th Street and Denver Avenue before 11 a.m., according to police.
The gunman, identified as a colleague in his 60s, shot three staff members in the lobby. Police officers arrived at the scene within two minutes of the call, quickly entering the six-story building and finding the three victims.
The victims included a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 60s, and a man in his 60s. They were transported to a local hospital, where one individual was reported in critical condition. The specific identity of the critically injured victim is yet to be confirmed.
After securing the injured victims, officers located the suspect inside the building on another floor, where he was apprehended without further incident.
