2 weeks ago 0

Social media influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on Saturday. This follows the British prosecutors’ announcement of new criminal charges and their request for extradition to the United Kingdom.

The U.S. Marshals Service carried out the arrests, as confirmed by agency spokesperson Brady McCarron to The Associated Press.

Details of the Charges

The arrests follow the U.K.’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorization of additional charges against the Tate brothers. These charges involve four alleged victims, and the CPS has requested their extradition from the United States.

According to a CPS statement released on Sunday, Andrew Tate, age 39, faces seven added counts of rape, three counts related to arranging or facilitating sexual exploitation trafficking, three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, and 19 charges involving indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

Tristan Tate, age 38, faces one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation. The alleged offenses took place between July 2010 and August 2017, increasing the alleged victim tally to seven.

Denial of Wrongdoing

The Tate brothers have consistently denied any wrongdoing. In response to their arrest, Joseph McBride, their attorney, stated to the BBC that “the world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent.”
