A recent graduate from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business Indianapolis was tragically killed. Brett Scrogham, aged 23, was murdered on Thursday while in a parking garage in Indianapolis.
Scrogham had been planning to attend a baseball game with his family downtown. Witnesses reported hearing a gunshot and saw a man fleeing the scene. The police soon discovered Scrogham injured, and he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
This incident occurred on May 28, 2026, in a parking garage. Police stated they are making significant progress but have not issued a description of the suspect.
Scrogham had been recognized as one of the top 100 undergraduate students by Indiana University Indianapolis. He expressed his gratitude for the recognition and the experience he gained at the Kelley School of Business.
He was working as a development analyst at a commercial real estate firm. Friends spoke highly of his intelligence and social connections. Stewart, a friend, recalled his remarkable dancing skills and noted his involvement in faith and community.
Crimes involving firearms have become a significant concern in Indianapolis. Mayor Joe Hogsett expressed his sadness over the incident and emphasized the unacceptability of violence in the community. He praised the authorities’ efforts and urged the community to assist in the investigation.
