Twins Achieve Perfect ACT Score at New Trier High School

Dean and Aiden Elhadary, twins and students at New Trier High School, achieved a rare feat by scoring a perfect 36 on their ACT exam. I got an email in class saying my scores were released and when I found out my score, I was pleased and relieved, Aiden Elhadary remarked. Discovering that his brother Dean had received the same score added to their excitement.

Both students share a strong interest in the sciences and have clear plans regarding their future studies. Dean intends to pursue a pre-med track, while Aiden is considering a major in biology or chemistry. Their achievement of earning a composite score of 36 on their first attempt highlights their dedication. According to ACT Communications Director Juan Elizondo, only 1 in 400 students manage to accomplish this.

Though the ACT is typically taken during junior or senior year, some sophomores opt to test early to evaluate their college prospects. Aiden Elhadary explained, The reason we took this test early was to kind of get a data point to know what areas we had to improve on for future test prep.

The twins prepared with a private tutor, focusing primarily on practice exams. Their mother, Jenny Elhadary, noted that the tutor facilitated their study sessions, but most of the effort came from their own dedication. She mentioned, I know she gave them practice exams and that’s all they did. The family’s commitment to academics and professional healthcare adds depth to the twins’ story. Jenny serves as the vice president for clinical services at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, while Hamdy Elhadary works as a physician assistant specializing in plastic surgery at Endeavor Health.

From a young age, Dean and Aiden were exposed to discussions about the medical field, shaping their career aspirations. Their strong reading comprehension skills were influential in excelling in the English and reading sections of the ACT. Dean also highlighted the importance of paying attention in math class.

Both twins engage in Science Olympiad, competing in various engineering projects, and assist middle school students with their Science Olympiad activities. Their father, Hamdy Elhadary, expressed pride in their successful scores, acknowledging, I want them to realize how exciting and great this is.

Currently, Duke University stands as the twins’ preferred choice for college. However, the family is exploring other options to ensure the best educational path. This remarkable academic achievement has opened up promising opportunities for their future in the medical field.
