Tyler Loop Shows Promise in Second NFL Season with Ravens

Drafted by the Baltimore Ravens as a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Tyler Loop faced the challenging task of succeeding legendary kicker Justin Tucker. Loop’s rookie season was notable, achieving 95.7% on extra points and 88.2% on field goals. He demonstrated accuracy in all 21 field goal attempts made from inside 39 yards. However, his performance was less consistent at longer distances, accomplishing only one successful attempt (a 52-yard kick) out of four attempts beyond 50 yards.

Recently, Ravens special teams coordinator Anthony Levine Sr. praised Loop’s efforts to improve his long-range accuracy during the training camp. On Tuesday, Loop showcased his progress by successfully making a 57-yard attempt, along with 53-yard and 49-yard goals.

“We have the confidence in Tyler Loop to go out and make any kick from anywhere on the field,” Levine stated, according to the Ravens’ website. “He’s proven that so far in training camp, making several kicks under 45 yards.”

Despite concluding the previous season with a missed 44-yard attempt in a 26-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, which cost the Ravens a playoff spot, Loop remains focused on growth. Post-game, Loop expressed his eagerness to overcome the miss.

“We talk about having a one-minute rule,” Loop explained. “Obviously, this one will linger longer than a minute since it was the season’s final play. But next time I’m back on the field, I’ll move on.”

With the preseason underway, the Ravens trust Loop to improve his long distance execution. His recent training camp accomplishments suggest promising progress. Tyler Loop’s continuous work and consistency remain key as he aims to bolster his performance.
