The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, described Trump’s military strategy toward Iran as aggressive. Iran has accused the U.S. of strikes on an Iraq border crossing, suggesting a broadening of targets.

Some analysts, like Sina Toossi from the Center for International Policy, believe diplomacy may still prevail. He argues that the political cost of securing a deal may be lower than engaging in an indefinite conflict.

“A deal can be portrayed as a victory, unlike a prolonged conflict without clear success,” Toossi stated.
