Carnival Cruise Line is reinforcing guidelines on attire during its stops at a popular South Pacific destination. Passengers on the Carnival Splendor received a notice to adhere to local dress codes before visiting Lifou in New Caledonia. This measure ensures that travelers respect cultural expectations, which are often stricter than those on board.

Guidance on Beach Attire

Prior to the June 2 stop, the cruise line advised avoiding revealing swimwear such as G-strings, thongs, monokinis, and mankinis. Topless sunbathing is also prohibited. The notification was shared in anticipation of the eight-night journey from Sydney.

Carnival Cruise Line states in its dress code guidelines, “We kindly ask guests to respect the local culture and rules in the ports we visit.” These rules apply not just to beaches but also to public venues like markets and churches.
