Allegations Surface Against Democratic Senate Nominee Graham Platner

2 weeks ago 0

A woman has alleged on social media that she briefly dated Graham Platner, the Democratic Senate nominee from Maine, in 2021. She describes meeting him on the Tinder dating app and accuses him of infidelity and changing stories about a controversial tattoo.

The woman, known on X as 420mercymain69, claimed that Platner manipulated her and other women. She was initially attracted to his Tinder profile due to his looks and political stance, she stated.

The woman stated: “I am stepping forward as a person who has experienced lying and manipulation by his hand to lend my voice to what is a growing number of women who have been wronged by this man in one way or another.”

Platner’s campaign has faced scrutiny over past controversies. These include making inappropriate comments about sensitive topics and exhibiting allegedly threatening behavior.

The woman from Maryland said they began talking on Tinder in February 2021 and dated until July. She recounted a conversation where Platner explained his Nazi SS symbol, the Totenkopf tattoo, claiming ignorance of its meaning and asserting it was a reminder of America’s negative actions globally.

She was surprised by differing accounts Platner provided about the tattoo, noting that during his campaign he offered another explanation. Platner’s spokesperson stated he chose the tattoo in Croatia to commemorate surviving events in Ramadi, and has since covered it up.

In addition to the tattoo controversy, the woman accused Platner of infidelity. Upon learning from a friend that he was involved with another woman, she ended the relationship. Further, she later discovered Platner was engaged to someone named “Jen” during their interaction and was allegedly unfaithful with a third person.

She claimed evidence exists of an incident where Platner was caught with someone at a wedding in D.C., and was attempting to reconcile with the individual he considered “the love of his life.”

Despite not intending to affect Platner’s campaign, she raised concerns about his character. Fox News has not independently verified these allegations.

Political reporter Leo Briceno noted that additional information might emerge and some political supporters continue to brush off such claims. Women’s accounts are reportedly being discounted and journalists criticized in comment sections.
