In an interview with the Columbia Journalism Review, Carlson stated his intention to support the creation of a third party, emphasizing the need for genuine efforts to benefit the nation. This decision comes during a period of significant disruption within both major political parties. Within the Democratic Party, the left-wing faction has gained momentum, fueled by dissatisfaction with the leadership’s position on Israel following the conflict in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Republican Party faces internal divisions over Trump’s handling of the Iran situation.
Carlson, a widely heard podcaster and former Fox News host, recently announced his departure from the Republican Party. He reflected on his 35-year history as a firm supporter of the party but criticized it for straying from “America first” ideals under Trump’s leadership.
