Ali Larter, known for her role in “Landman,” finds her summers in Idaho much simpler compared to her past life in Los Angeles. Larter moved to Sun Valley, Idaho, in 2020 and has noticed significant changes in her family’s lifestyle.

Lifestyle Changes

Larter shared with Fox News Digital at the Newport Beach TV Fest that her summers have become completely different. In Idaho, her family enjoys bike rides and cold plunges in the river, although her kids have become less inclined to hike.

The longer days contribute to their enjoyment, with the sun setting as late as 10 PM. Larter appreciates the opportunity to spend more time with her children, Teddy, 15, and Vivienne, 11.

Decision to Stay in Idaho

Larter and her husband, Hayes MacArthur, decided to settle in Idaho after initially moving there during the COVID-19 lockdown. They initially planned to stay for two months, expecting their kids’ schools to reopen in California.

Instead, their daughter continued her kindergarten education in Idaho, which allowed them to meet new families and enjoy skiing. This experience solidified their decision to stay, as they valued the time spent together as a family.

Leaving Los Angeles Behind

Despite her love for Los Angeles, Larter wanted a more family-focused lifestyle. Returning to Los Angeles highlighted the demanding nature of acting, with frequent auditions and expectations to attend numerous events and charity gatherings.

Larter expressed a desire to spend more quality time with her children and pursue a less hectic life. This realization prompted the family’s decision to permanently relocate to Idaho after spending a summer back in Los Angeles.

Role in “Landman”

At the Newport Beach TV Fest, Larter discussed her role as Angela on “Landman,” who is the ex-wife of Billy Bob Thornton’s character. She described Angela as a “wildcat” and expressed her wish to embody her character’s traits more in her everyday life.
