Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily, have publicly addressed the legal drama involving Blake Lively that unfolded over the past two years. The couple shared their thoughts in a detailed Instagram video, expressing feelings of ‘injustice’ and ‘trauma.’
‘We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say,’ Justin stated in the video.
He explained that they often felt it wasn’t the right time to speak, despite having much to discuss.
The legal conflict stems from the 2024 movie ‘It Ends With Us.’ Reports of tension emerged when Justin promoted the film apart from Lively. December 2024 saw Lively allege Baldoni harassed her on set and later targeted her reputation. In response, Baldoni filed lawsuits against Lively and others for defamation and extortion.
Throughout the following year, their legal battle played out publicly, involving text messages, footage, and various court documents. Eventually, they reached a confidential settlement in May 2026. Neither party admitted wrongdoing or paid damages. Still, the court is considering Lively’s request for $8 million in legal fees, a demand Baldoni contests.
Justin shared in the video that they feel grateful for support but still grapple with pain and injustice. Emily echoed these sentiments, emphasizing their struggles to comprehend the situation.
The couple mentioned facing noise from public discourse and wished to let the justice system function without adding to it. While moving forward, they reflect on personal empowerment, family, faith, and community as key influences in their healing process.
Justin concluded by sharing their gratitude for the support received and discussed how love and faith have grown stronger through this experience.
As the legal dispute fades, it remains notable in Hollywood for its effects on careers and discussions on workplace behavior and reputation.
