Jay-Z Concert Delayed Due to Safety Concerns

Jay-Z’s concert at Yankee Stadium in New York faced a significant delay on Sunday night. Hundreds of fans waited outside for hours as the performance, scheduled for the evening, started after midnight on Monday.

The rapper addressed the audience, apologizing for the postponement. He cited safety concerns as the reason for the delay. Some concertgoers had attempted to rush the stadium gates, prompting a temporary closure to protect everyone present.

“There’s 10,000 people outside,” Jay-Z remarked, according to social media videos. “I don’t want to start the music and people get trampled.”

The Yankees, Roc Nation, and Live Nation released a joint statement explaining the situation. They noted that large groups, some without tickets, tried to enter the stadium forcibly, which led to security breaches.

“As a result, gates at all entrances of the stadium were closed for an extended period of time,” the statement detailed. With assistance from the NYPD, officials reopened the gates in a controlled manner to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

The New York Police Department referred to the joint statement when providing information about the incident.
