Crime scene tape remained on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall on July 15, 2026, following a tragic event. A person was discovered dead after apparently jumping from the 26th floor of the building.
An internal city message, reviewed by The Times, indicated that the Security Services Division of the Los Angeles Police Department reported the incident as an apparent suicide. Authorities responded to the scene at around 4:30 p.m., finding the victim deceased on the Spring Street steps.
Items believed to belong to the victim, including a cellphone and jacket, were discovered in the tower. As of now, no additional information about the victim or surrounding circumstances is available. The memo confirmed no signs of foul play, with Security Services leading the ongoing investigation.
The Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson stated they had no further details.
