LeBron James Talks Free Agency and ‘Trusting the Process’ at Fanatic Fest

3 weeks ago 0

LeBron James spoke at Fanatic Fest in New York City on Friday during a live episode of “The Shop.” The topic was his free agency journey and what he desires from his future team. James used the phrase “trust the process” during this discussion.

The phrase “trust the process” is widely known as a reference to the Philadelphia 76ers’ strategic rebuild, initiated by former GM Sam Hinkie in 2013. The 76ers are considered strong contenders to sign James.

“I want to compete at a high level,” James explained. “I seek a franchise sharing my motto. That is, practicing championship habits daily and trusting the process above all.”

His remark led to a buzz among the fans, hinting at the 76ers connection. James quickly addressed this, saying, “I’ve been saying ‘trust the process’ since I was drafted in 2003.”

Fans at Fanatic Fest were quick to notice potential links to the 76ers.

The 76ers have a robust lineup for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The team acquired star guard Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in a pivotal trade this offseason. He joins Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe on the roster.

Besides the 76ers, other teams in the running for James include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves.
