On Thursday, shootings claimed two lives on the University of Chicago campus. Police found a 27-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man dead inside a vehicle on 5900 block of South Ellis, near Midway Plaisance Ice Skating Rink and Harper Quad. Both had suffered gunshot wounds to the head, as reported by NBC 5 Chicago.
The victims had no confirmed connection to the university, and authorities are yet to reveal more information. A firearm was retrieved at the scene, and evidence suggested the vehicle crashed either before or during the shooting.
