Jacoby Brissett Secures Substantial Raise with Arizona Cardinals

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has secured a significant pay raise with the Arizona Cardinals. The team increased his base salary for the 2026 NFL season from $4.88 million to $15.5 million. With additional incentives, his earnings could reach $21 million, according to reports.

Brissett’s negotiations differed from typical hold-ins, as he sought a raise, not an extension. This move generated discussions on the appropriateness of his request. However, with the departure of Kyler Murray to the Minnesota Vikings, Brissett positioned himself as the likely starting quarterback, justifying his demand for higher pay.

Brissett, who took over starting duties in 2025 due to Murray’s injury, was instrumental in enhancing the team’s offensive performance. Players like tight end Trey McBride and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. benefited from his presence.

Although Brissett did not join the Cardinals’ spring workouts, he was present at training camp, suggesting a possible agreement. The coaching change, with Mike LaFleur replacing Jonathan Gannon, introduced more competition, including Miami quarterback draftee Carson Beck and Gardner Minshew II.

The Cardinals also bolstered their offense with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, enhancing the lineup Brissett will lead. His raises and team’s upgrades should help him secure the starting quarterback role for the upcoming season, despite needing to outperform Beck and Minshew during training camp.

The Cardinals and Carolina Panthers commenced their training camps early. The rest of the NFL will begin their camp sessions on July 28, initiating position battles across the league.
