The Royal Grenada Police Force continues its search for Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 44-year-old from Cary, North Carolina. Authorities emphasize that their efforts remain active, with hopes of finding her alive.
Waddell was last observed entering the water at Grand Anse Beach last Wednesday. Acting Commissioner of Police Randy Connaught confirmed to reporters that the investigation still treats the case as a missing person.
Surveillance footage showed Waddell walking on a jetty near the water at 11:36 a.m. and entering the sea shortly after at 11:51 a.m. Additional footage recorded her swimming under the jetty at 12:04 p.m., according to Connaught. Witnesses reported seeing Waddell in the open water, which supports the timeline provided by her traveling companion.
The companion is cooperating with police and surveillance footage confirmed her presence on the beach at 12:46 p.m. She alerted the police about Waddell’s disappearance at 5:50 p.m. Connaught stressed that her account is trustworthy and aid in the investigation continues.
Despite Waddell’s disappearance nearly six days ago, the police maintain hope for her safe recovery.
Connaught stated, “It is our hope that Elizabeth will be found and found alive and well.”
The local police call on fishermen, boat operators, and residents along the southern coastline for assistance in finding Waddell, described as having a medium build and short blond hair. Connaught urged, “Any bit of information will do at this time, and we do hope that we can locate Elizabeth very soon.”
Authorities express empathy with Waddell’s family and friends, maintaining hope for her safe return.
