On Saturday, a devastating explosion occurred at a restaurant in central Moscow, claiming the lives of three individuals. The incident unfolded at around 8 p.m. within a restaurant located on the ground floor terrace at Kudrinksaya Square, known for its Stalin-era skyscrapers.
The explosion, attributed to a homemade explosive device, was confirmed by Russia’s National Anti-Terrorism Committee. The victims included a woman who reportedly attempted to bring the explosive device into the establishment, along with a security guard and a patron, as reported by Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.
In addition to the fatalities, at least 21 individuals sustained injuries during the explosion. The Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant, where the incident occurred, was closed to the public for a private event, according to its website. The area was quickly swarmed by law enforcement officers and emergency services following the explosion.
