Former Child Actress Joins Wisconsin Rep. Francesca Hong’s Campaign

Renee Olstead, known for her roles as a child actress, is now involved in Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong’s gubernatorial campaign. She serves in a senior role, reportedly as the deputy campaign manager. This follows her career as an OnlyFans model and her prior activism.

According to The Heartland Post, Olstead, also identified as Renee Faust, has been working on Hong’s campaign since at least January. Her social media profile promotes Hong’s candidacy, linking to the campaign’s get-out-the-vote initiatives. Additionally, Olstead has shared images from campaign events, where she reportedly handled logistics for well-known supporters like political commentator Hasan Piker.

Fox News Digital reached out to Hong’s campaign, seeking confirmation on Olstead’s role and responsibilities. The campaign affirmed Olstead’s involvement, highlighting her background as a licensed mental health clinician who has worked with trafficking survivors. Her role has contributed to building what the campaign claims is Wisconsin’s largest grassroots movement.

Previously, Olstead founded the Coalition for American Sex Workers, advocating for decriminalization and policy shifts benefiting sex workers. In recognition of her efforts, Hong and other representatives presented her with a State Assembly citation. This came as Hong continues to champion legislation decriminalizing adult prostitution and establishing a sex workers’ bill of rights.

Critics like Wisconsin Family Action, a conservative group, have voiced concerns. They question Olstead’s influence within Hong’s campaign, given her past as a sex worker. Daniel Degner, the organization’s president, highlighted these apprehensions, questioning whether Olstead would have a leadership role if Hong assumes office.

It’s noteworthy that Francesca Hong has expressed progressive views, including talks of abolishing the U.S. Senate and defunding the police. Hong also faced public scrutiny for a 2020 social media post advocating to ‘cancel Thanksgiving’, describing it as a celebration of colonialism. However, she has since clarified her sentiments, stating that Thanksgiving remains her favorite holiday.
