Jamie Kennedy, an actor, recently voiced his concerns about perceived hypocrisy in modern America on his podcast, “Hate to Break It to Ya.” He discussed several current events, focusing on the Fauci hearings and the ongoing discussions about COVID-19 and its impacts.
Kennedy expanded his discussion to address the broader public response to the pandemic, describing some people’s attitudes as “beyond brainwashed.” He shared personal experiences where his political views drew harsh labels, such as being called a “maggot” due to his occasional support for Republican policies.
Despite leaning right, Kennedy clarified that he has never voted and finds merit in some liberal policies. He highlighted a lack of openness from some individuals who do not welcome discourse or differing ideas. Kennedy posed a rhetorical question regarding inclusive politics, questioning how a group can claim to be inclusive when excluding those with differing views.
Describing people like himself as “open-minded,” Kennedy suggested that such individuals prioritize policies over party affiliations. He emphasized his desire for conversation, exploration, and understanding different perspectives.
Kennedy shared an experience of performing a comedy set in a parking lot to help a struggling bar during lockdowns. He complained about a contrasting scenario nearby, where a sanctioned TV crew filmed without issue, calling this disparity hypocritical.
He argued that judgmental attitudes and repression from some on the left create division, while the right, when expressing hateful views, owns them, making their stance clear. Kennedy criticized left-leaning individuals for preaching inclusion but reacting negatively when their demands are unmet.
Furthermore, Kennedy cited reactions to the murder of Charlie Kirk, condemning those who reacted with joy as “beyond sick.” He accused these individuals of hypocrisy in their claims for inclusion while being intolerant and destructive.
Concluding his thoughts, Kennedy labeled this attitude as the “cult of closed-mindedness,” a perceived refusal to entertain diverse viewpoints.
