Leah Sava Jeffries and Walker Scobell Address Romance Speculations

Leah Sava Jeffries, a star of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, has called for fans to stop speculating about a real-life romance between her and costar Walker Scobell. Both 17 years old, Jeffries and Scobell portray Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson in the series, adapted from Rick Riordan’s popular books.

In an interview with Variety, Jeffries emphasized the need for fans to separate their on-screen relationship from real personal affairs. She stated, “I ship Percy and Annabeth, mind you, not Walker and Leah,” highlighting the distinction between fiction and reality.

“We have to get it out here,” she insisted, aiming to clear up any confusion.

Jeffries and Scobell had discussed addressing the ongoing rumors in interviews to quash them effectively. They both admire the relationship of their characters and described it as a “beautiful relationship.” Jeffries humorously described how fans interpret every interaction between her and Scobell, noting, “The funny part is, we won’t look at each other, and [fans will] be like, ‘They love each other so much that they won’t look at each other.’ But then we’ll look at each other [and fans are like], ‘Wow, look at him looking at her.’”

She later humorously suggested, “So like, should I become blind? What’s going on, y’all?” To emphasize her point, Jeffries shared a clip of her interview on Instagram Stories, captioning, “Y’all this better be me and Walker’s last time saying this 😭.” Scobell showed his support by liking the clip shared on Instagram.

The series returns for its third season on November 20, depicting The Titan’s Curse for the first time on-screen. Season 3 puts Percy in a challenging position after Annabeth gets captured by Kronos. Scobell noted, “He’s relied on Annabeth before to be the one to make these decisions and figure out ways out of these things. There’s growth there, to emotionally regulate everybody, but Percy has to step up.”

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 debuts on Disney+ and Hulu on November 20.
