A Louisiana man, Tyronne Brazille, 50, faces accusations of murdering his wife and transporting her body across multiple states before being apprehended in Tennessee. Police in Memphis stopped Brazille for a traffic violation and discovered his wife, Lanessa Bradford, 50, deceased with a gunshot wound in the passenger seat, according to WREG.
Shelicka Decker, a friend of Bradford, informed the outlet that the couple had been married for years. Bradford had plans to leave Brazille and had saved money and devised a strategy to escape. ‘She was going to leave her car and all her belongings behind. She had been in contact with her family out of town,’ Decker stated. ‘That was her plan to get away.’ Before Bradford could execute her plan, investigators allege Brazille killed her during an argument at Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge.
Investigators reported that Brazille drove through several states with his wife’s body in the vehicle before being stopped in Memphis. He was taken into custody as a fugitive. Decker voiced her confusion about Brazille’s actions, questioning, ‘What were you doing in the car with her that amount of time while she was deceased?’
Reports indicate that prior to the incident, Brazille had threatened to kill himself or Bradford if she attempted to leave him. Decker noted that although Brazille had never been physically abusive until recently, she was surprised to learn he had killed Bradford rather than harming himself. ‘He never put his hands on her until recently,’ she remarked.
Bradford worked at an elementary school in Baton Rouge. Concerned school officials initiated a welfare check at her home after her absence from work. This tragic situation has left friends and family shocked. Decker emphasized Bradford’s positive impact on those around her, saying, ‘She uplifted a lot of people.’
Brazille is set to appear in court and awaits extradition to Louisiana, where he is expected to face murder charges related to Bradford’s death.
