Hayden Panettiere, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 36, was remembered by numerous stars. Panettiere gained fame as a prolific actress, known for her roles in NBC’s “Heroes” and the musical TV series “Nashville.” She openly discussed her struggles with alcohol and postpartum depression, taking a break from acting before returning in 2023 for “Scream VI.”
On Monday, tributes to Panettiere were paid by fellow actresses Viola Davis, Melissa Barrera, and Bethany Joy Lenz, along with podcaster Jay Shetty.
Viola Davis, actress: “What an incredible talent you were… so gifted. Julius and I adored working with you… an old and wise soul with such a deep heart. I wish the world had more time with you because I felt a burning curiosity to know who you were becoming. I saw this beautiful Phoenix rise from the ashes. Your trials became your testimony, and your testimony became your legacy. You will be remembered. Rest well, Hayden. Sending healing prayers to your family, daughter, and all who loved you… may they always speak your name,” via Instagram.
Bethany Joy Lenz, actress: “I don’t understand how this can be real. Everything seemed to be getting better. She was COMING BACK to life, right? Too young, and so much life still ahead. And her daughter… Hayden, you are surrounded by love. Sorry for every moment I didn’t write or ask how you were. This can’t be real,” via Instagram.
Kelly Osbourne, TV Host: “I am deeply saddened by the loss of someone who meant so much to me. We understood each other in a way few truly can: recognizing how difficult it is to grow up under the spotlight and how isolating it can feel even when surrounded by so many people,” via Instagram.
Ashlee Simpson, musician: “I am deeply saddened by the news of Hayden Panettiere’s passing. Rest in peace, Hayden. You will be greatly missed,” via Instagram.
Brittany Shaw, actress: “This is a shock. She was great. She had a way of making you feel at home. From the moment I walked onto the Nashville set, she made me feel like I belonged. We had so many good times together, and I will always be grateful for them,” via Instagram.
Jay Shetty, podcast host: “I can’t believe it. Our friendship had just begun, and I was very moved by the conversation we shared earlier this year. All my love and condolences to her family and fans,” via Instagram.
Selma Blair, actress: “I love you. Don’t go. Don’t go. Please. Please,” via Instagram.

David Arquette, actor: “I love you, Hayden,” via Instagram.
Rosie O’Donnell, actress: “Oh my God — heartbroken #Hayden,” via Instagram.
