President Donald Trump engaged with several Baltimore Ravens players on Tuesday during an event at Tradepoint Atlantic. This gathering served to highlight the site chosen for Anduril Industries’ major investment in a $3.7 billion high-tech shipyard, set to produce submarine components.

In his address at the 3,300-acre industrial and logistics center located in Sparrows Point, Baltimore County, Trump acknowledged four Ravens players who were present. These athletes took a day off to attend the event wearing suits. The players were cornerback Marlon Humphrey, kicker Tyler Loop, long snapper Nick Moore, and punter Ryan Eckley.

The quartet joined Trump at Tradepoint Atlantic in Sparrows Point, Maryland, as he announced Anduril Industries’ significant investment. This venture, valued at $3.7 billion, aims to establish a shipyard for manufacturing Virginia-class attack submarines, creating thousands of permanent jobs in the process.

Trump, known for his enthusiasm for sports, commended the Ravens in attendance. “What a team you have this year,” he remarked, highlighting their 3-1 record and leading position in the AFC North division.

Before speaking, Trump introduced the players to the audience and media. “Could you stand up?” he asked them, acknowledging their presence. He specifically commented on Nick Moore’s role, mistakenly identifying him initially as a coach before learning of his position as a long snapper. “You know, nowadays, those long snappers are very valuable. It’s an amazing job you do with that,” Trump noted.

As part of the event, some players joined Trump on a tour of the facility traveling in the presidential motorcade. Marlon Humphrey, seated behind Trump, recorded a video featuring Trump and Moore in conversation about a past Super Bowl. This video amassed one million views within hours of its posting.

The meeting spurred various discussions online. Comments ranged widely, touching on topics that included racism.

Notably missing from the event was Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. He is currently sidelined with an ankle injury and is uncertain for the upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Nonetheless, Trump mentioned Jackson during his remarks. “Say hello to your quarterback,” he instructed the other players. “He’s a little bit injured. And tell him I know his mother. I met his mother a few times in Palm Beach. And she’s a fantastic, beautiful woman. Give him my regards. He is some player.”
