Jill Biden Discusses Concerns about Joe Biden’s Health During 2024 Debate

1 hour ago 0

Former First Lady Jill Biden recently addressed questions about her husband, former President Joe Biden, having possibly been drugged before the 2024 debate. During a podcast hosted by Jamie Kern Lima, she was asked if doctors had ruled out a stroke on the night of the debate.

Lima inquired, ‘Was a stroke ruled out by doctors that night?’ Jill Biden responded by saying that although she did not directly ask doctors if Joe had a stroke, she questioned if he was okay, ‘They did say he was okay,’ she remarked.

Jill Biden shared a personal moment during the debate, revealing that Joe whispered to her afterward, ‘I messed up.’

When pressed about her instincts on what occurred, Jill Biden admitted uncertainty. She noted that Joe had been traveling, appeared tired, and did not feel well, but no clear cause was evident. Jill mentioned her own hectic travel schedule, which prevented her from being with him leading up to the debate.

Lima posed the question, ‘Could anyone have tampered with his drink?’ to which Jill replied, ‘Who knows?’

Fox News Digital sought comment from Joe Biden’s office but received no immediate response. Jill Biden faced criticism for expressing her fear that Joe had a stroke during the debate in June 2024, characterizing it as a critical moment in the election when Joe struggled with speech and expressions, even losing some of his supporters.

Jill’s memoir, ‘View from the East Wing,’ touches on the incident. She wrote about being frightened by Joe’s behavior, having never witnessed such actions before or since. A May interview revealed her feelings as she watched Joe’s performance, ‘I thought, my God, he’s having a stroke.’

Despite constant medical attention, Jill Biden was reassured by doctors that Joe was fine. The incident seemed isolated, described by her as an aberration.

The memoir has created waves, with some Democrats resenting its timing. Andrew Bates, a former spokesperson for Biden, expressed reservations about revisiting the painful conversation about the 2024 election. Jill challenged Bates to confront her directly if he had concerns.

Professor Matt Dallek from George Washington University noted that the memoir tour might not impact midterm elections or the 2028 upcoming elections. However, he acknowledged that the Democratic Party views the Bidens as dwelling on the past, including Joe’s unpopularity at the end of his term and concerns about Trump’s potential return to power.

Dallek added that despite criticisms, there remains affection for the Biden family within the Democratic Party. Memories of Joe’s presidency, including its final phase, evoke a mix of emotions.

The former president plans to release a book detailing his time in office by November, after the midterms.
