Over the weekend, Hasan Piker, a well-known far-left streamer, performed the meme song “We Are Charlie Kirk” during his “Fear& LIVE” tour. This event took place to a lively audience and quickly gained significant online attention.
During the show, Piker led a cheering crowd with lyrics such as, “We are Charlie Kirk, we carry the flame. We’ll fight for the Gospel, we’ll honor his name.” His co-hosts, present on stage, could be seen laughing. At one point, Piker remarked that the experience was surreal for him.
Apart from streaming on Twitch, Piker co-hosts the podcast “Fear&,” which delves into comedy and pop culture. Their tour, focused on the West Coast, began in San Francisco. Piker shared a photo online of the live show, confirming the location.
The song in question is believed to be AI-generated and was released shortly after Charlie Kirk’s assassination in Utah on September 18, 2025. It resembles a Christian power ballad and contains lines like, “He spoke the truth when the cost was high / He lived for Jesus, unafraid to die.” The song has frequently appeared in online memes to mock Kirk and conservative figures.
Hasan Piker’s action with the song, perceived as mocking Kirk, quickly spread across the internet. Charlie Kirk held a respected position within the political right for founding Turning Point USA and his involvement in Republican politics.
“Hasan Piker is engaging in pure, unadulterated evil,” wrote Andrew Kolvet, Turning Point’s spokesman. He added a biblical reference from Proverbs 17:5, “Whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.”
Investigative reporter Chuck Ross criticized Piker’s actions, referencing a missed debate between Piker and Kirk, stating, “He’s just a trash human being. Piker talked about the impact of the shooting on him, yet now ridicules the situation for his fans.”
After the show, Piker continued to engage with the controversy by posting a photo with the caption, “carried the flame tn,” echoing one of the song’s lyrics, “We carry the flame.” Additionally, he reposted comments attacking his critics, pointing out perceived hypocritical reactions from conservatives.
Charlie Kirk, known for founding Turning Point USA and engaging in viral campus debates, had become a key Trump ally and participated in debates with Piker on socialism. Even in the 2026 political cycle, Piker’s influence remains notable as he supports rising democratic socialists like Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed.
Fox News Digital contacted Hasan Piker for comments. The news is part of ongoing coverage led by Deputy Managing Editor David Rutz.
