Debi Mazar and Doug Ellin Clash Over ‘Entourage’ Set Environment

Recently, Debi Mazar, known for her role in the HBO series “Entourage,” described the show’s set as “toxic.” She highlighted the “testosterone-fueled” atmosphere she experienced throughout the series, particularly mentioning issues after her second child’s birth. Mazar suggested she faced criticism from show executives regarding her weight gain after pregnancy.

In a recent Sunday Times interview, Mazar discussed her time on “Entourage,” contrasting the series’ early joyous environment with later changes. She emphasized that the set felt increasingly hostile, particularly during the third season, although she remained appreciative of her experience overall.

Doug Ellin, the show’s creator and director, strongly disputed Mazar’s claims. He responded to the allegations on social media, labeling them “disgusting.” Ellin clarified that neither he nor significant team members commented on Mazar’s body. He noted that he focused on two male actors’ appearances, specifically Adrian Grenier and Jerry Ferrara, which he now regrets due to health considerations. Ellin expressed contentment with Ferrara’s current healthy lifestyle.

Ellin defended the working environment, asserting that a majority of the women involved with the show still maintain good relationships with colleagues. He emphasized Mazar was cast for her talent, not her appearance, dismissing claims about weight being an issue for her role.
