A tragic shooting unfolded in a downtown Minneapolis apartment building, leaving three people dead, including the alleged shooter, and injuring five others. Among the injured were three Minneapolis police officers.
KTSP, a local news station, reported that the suspected shooter was being evicted for threatening other residents with a firearm. Witnesses identified the man as Carlton Johnson II. Fox 9 also cited unnamed sources identifying Johnson as the suspect.
Court records obtained by KTSP revealed that Johnson was undergoing eviction from a 9th floor unit in the building. A hearing related to this eviction was set for September 11.
The complaint filed by the property management company of Loring Tower indicated that Johnson’s lease was meant to be terminated in June. This decision followed allegations of Johnson assaulting another resident, displaying a firearm openly, and threatening to kill someone.
