2 hours ago 0

The Indiana Hoosiers have embarked on a journey to follow up their remarkable 2025 season, which culminated in a national championship victory. While the outcome of the current season is still uncertain, one aspect is clear: their mascot, Hoosier the Bison, will be bringing his energetic spirit every weekend.

The Hoosiers reintroduced a bison mascot last season, marking the first appearance in sixty years. This reintroduction was impeccably timed, correlating with their championship-winning efforts.

Hoosier made a grand entrance by skydiving into Memorial Stadium, drawing comparisons to the adrenaline-pumping feats seen in “Point Break” by Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze.

For his sophomore year, Hoosier opted for a thrilling zip line entry, proving his flair for dramatic entries.

Yet, his creativity did not stop there. Hoosier also drove an IndyCar around the field during a band performance, leaving audiences thoroughly entertained.

Such performances highlight the vibrant college football atmosphere. The involvement of Hoosier in these events is a testament to the lively and unrestrained spirit that college mascots often embody.

Mascots are not yet targeted by Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) agreements, but judging by Hoosier’s performance, it’s conceivable that schools with substantial budgets might soon show interest.

Matthew Reigle, author at OutKick, details the entertaining antics surrounding Hoosier the Bison and the excitement he brings to Indiana football.
