Cody Rhodes, known for his career in WWE, has teamed up with John Cena and other wrestling stars for a unique collaboration with the popular mobile game Clash of Clans. Rhodes has been an avid player for almost ten years, and this partnership brings an exciting challenge to the game’s community.
Finding Cena’s Base
The current event, titled ‘Search for Cena,’ tasks players with locating John Cena’s base within the game. Rhodes recently discussed the endeavor with OutKick Dropkick before a main WWE event. He reminisced about starting with Clash of Clans alongside Cena during their travels, playing as part of Cena’s original group, the O’Leary Klan (OLK), known for Cena’s leadership. Players are now invited to raid Cena’s base, capturing a three-star rating of 100.
“We’ve got millions of players on Clash of Clans globally. It was a bonding game, and now we can get our receipt back by finding and raiding Cena’s base,” said Rhodes.
Rhodes on Game Dynamics
Rhodes highlighted the game’s interactive nature, which allows WWE fans to connect with stars in a virtual setting. The update includes new features such as a ‘Barbarian King’ skin that represents Rhodes in the game.
The Backstory with Cena
Cena had initiated Rhodes into the world of Clash of Clans, even forming the first clan Rhodes belonged to before moving onto his current group, the Nicky Clan. Cena continues to play an active role in making the game fun for fellow players. However, his gameplay, particularly his habit of securing 99% one-star ratings, was a point of contention for many.
Cena humorously addressed his virtual rivalry with Rhodes, stating, “People think this started in the ring with Cody. It didn’t. It started when I out-raided him in the game and he threw me off his team. As I have always said – if you want some, come get some.”
Expanding the Universe of WWE
The inclusion of WWE personalities in Clash of Clans has broadened the game’s appeal, inviting players who might not be familiar with wrestling. Rhodes appreciates the seemingly unlikely partnership that enhances their brand visibility and creates memorable moments.
Other WWE stars have featured in the game too. Characters include Alexa Bliss as ‘Archer Queen,’ The Undertaker as ‘Grand Warden,’ Iyo Sky as ‘Royal Champion,’ Jey Uso as ‘Minion Prince,’ and Kane as ‘Dragon Duke.’
Rhodes expressed excitement noting, “Clash brings us as a group together. Some of the legends who don’t know Clash, like Undertaker, are now involved.”
Clash of Clans stands as one of the top mobile games with over 2 billion downloads, enjoying immense popularity across the globe.
