1 hour ago 0

Former NFL player Dae’Quan Wright has received court approval to return to college athletics at LSU. This decision comes amid a legal challenge from the SEC, which attempted to prevent this transition. Jim Gray, a Fox News contributor, offers insights into the implications of this ruling, focusing on the changing NCAA eligibility criteria for the 2022 draft class.

In a related story, Edgerrin James, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, issued a heartfelt appeal on social media concerning his son, Jizzle James, a former Charlotte basketball player. The younger James is reportedly facing substance abuse challenges. Edgerrin James used his platform to request that those who encounter his son offer support and love, but refrain from providing money or material goods.

“Jizzle is dealing with substance abuse and is not in the right state of mind right now,” Edgerrin James said in an Instagram post. “Show him love, but do not give him money, valuables, or anything material.”

Jizzle James had a brief tenure as a college basketball player at Charlotte. He transferred from Cincinnati, following coach Wes Miller. However, his time with Charlotte was cut short due to personal issues. The school’s sports department confirmed his departure, highlighting ongoing personal struggles.

His last season with Cincinnati was marked by ups and downs; initially dismissed, he was later reinstated, appearing in 23 games and averaging 10.9 points and 2.1 assists. Despite a potential reunification with Cincinnati, the university issued a cease-and-desist letter regarding the use of its trademarks in his personal ventures.

“As you are no longer a member of the University of Cincinnati men’s basketball program, you are not authorized to use, represent, or commercially promote the program,” the letter conveyed.

Jizzle James responded on social media, asserting his independence in merchandise creation, indicating a desire to distance himself from the university’s branding.
