Hasan Piker’s Controversial Statements Stir Debate

Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has claimed it is his “God-given” and “constitutionally protected right” to declare his disdain for America during a livestream. On Friday, Piker addressed an attack ad targeting Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, linking him to Piker’s past controversial statements expressing hatred for America.

Piker’s comments featured in the ad include, “Bro, I hate this country, dude. I hate America.” He argued that his anger is directed at “what America as the American government is doing to Americans and to everyone else.” Despite this, Piker defended his right to voice his opinions, claiming, “Of course I’m a God—- American. It is my God—- God-given and constitutionally protected right to say I hate America if America is actually f—ing over Americans.” He criticized those viewing him as anti-American, calling such views “so f—ing stupid.”

Abdul El-Sayed, running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, has faced criticism for teaming up with Piker, despite Piker’s previous statements that America “deserved” the 9/11 attacks. El-Sayed has distanced himself from Piker while campaigning for the general election, although he previously supported Piker during the primary.

Piker acknowledged the intensity of his language. At the 2026 Socialism Conference in Chicago, he defended his comments as critiques of America’s involvement in the Middle East, admitting that using the term “deserved” was inappropriate. “It was the language that I used that was controversial,” Piker explained.
