Medicanes, although not frequent, have significant effects on the regions they impact. The potential path of this system suggests possible effects on Greece, northern Libya, or northwest Egypt. Such systems can bring severe weather, including heavy rain and strong winds, leading to flooding and infrastructure damage.
Historically, medicanes have resulted in notable destruction. For example, a medicane named Ianos caused extensive damage when it struck Greece in September 2020. Flooding from Ianos affected areas like Karditsa, causing significant disruption and economic losses.
