Judge Adam Levy Premieres New Courtroom Show ‘Adam’s Law’

Judge Adam Levy’s courtroom show, “Adam’s Law,” is debuting this month. Levy feels ready because he learned valuable lessons from his mother, Judge Judy Sheindlin. Her show, “Judge Judy,” was a staple on television for over 25 years. Sheindlin’s influence is apparent as Levy prepares to carry on the legacy.

Before his television career, Levy served as Putnam County District Attorney in New York for two terms. He was also an adjudicating judge on “Tribunal,” but “Adam’s Law” marks his first solo endeavor with CBS Media Ventures, beginning Monday.

“Well, we dive into the nitty-gritty,” Judge Adam Levy said during a taping at Stamford Studios.

Levy shared that the show focuses on the fine details. He explained how information isn’t limited to what litigants state in complaints or responses. Background checks are conducted when necessary, ensuring all claims are backed by evidence. This approach aims to deliver fair verdicts.

Emotions ran high in some cases Levy presided over. Two women expressed strong emotions while testifying. Levy emphasized that while understanding their feelings, he remains focused on facts, stressing to his family and viewers that the law deals with facts, not feelings.

Levy’s courtroom philosophy aligns with his mother’s. He’s strict with dishonesty and encourages truthfulness. He underlined that a trial is a search for the truth rather than a contest of deception.

His approach comes from his upbringing and recognizing the work ethic instilled by Judge Judy. Though Levy admits he didn’t always appreciate her schedule, he now values the dedication she showed. He aims to pass this ethic to his children, who often jest about his intense preparation.

“It’s much easier when you love what you do,” Levy stated, reflecting his passion for his work.

“Adam’s Law” is a creation of Judge Judy Sheindlin, produced by Queen Bee Productions. The show premiered on Monday in national syndication.
