The renowned CBS newsmagazine, 60 Minutes, commenced its 59th season on Sunday evening, capturing the audience’s attention once more. This season marks the first under the leadership of new executive producer Nick Bilton.

The show resumed its broadcasts from the CBS Broadcast Center in Manhattan. Notably, a controversial reorganization took place before the season’s start. Bari Weiss, the editor in chief of CBS News, implemented a significant reshuffle. This included the termination of correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega. Subsequently, Scott Pelley, another key correspondent, was dismissed following a heated internal meeting.
