President Trump Bans CNN, MS Now, and Politico from White House

President Donald Trump announced on Friday that CNN, MS Now, and Politico are banned from the White House. In a Truth Social post, he stated, “I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW … and Politico … from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!”

During an Oval Office press briefing, Trump reiterated his decision, referencing “cumulative stories” published by these outlets. “You get sick of it,” he remarked to reporters.

CNN, a long-time member of the rotating presidential press pool, has been selected to lead network pool coverage as Trump attends the United Nations General Assembly on Monday.

Trump denied that the ban aims to intimidate the press. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former White House press secretary under Trump and current Arkansas governor, was present. She dismissed the idea that Trump opposes the free press, emphasizing the president’s accessibility.

“I think it’s hard for you to argue against a free press when you’re standing in the Oval Office asking questions,” Sanders said to reporters.

Efforts to ban media outlets during Trump’s previous tenure faced legal challenges. “I don’t think that a court should allow fake news to be written day, after day, after day,” Trump added.

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy noted that CNN continued broadcasting from outside the White House. A senior official communicated to CNN, MS Now, and Politico that they would be restricted from White House access starting Saturday.

CNN responded by affirming its commitment to fair reporting. “We have a constitutional right to do that reporting without interference,” a statement read. Politico also released a statement defending their First Amendment rights.

A spokesperson for MS Now declined to comment.
