The New York Giants faced challenges during their Monday night game against the Los Angeles Rams. The game became problematic early when starting quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a sprained MCL in the first quarter and had to leave the field.
The problems didn’t end there for the Giants. Shortly after, Malik Nabers, the team’s star wide receiver, experienced significant pain following an attempted reception from backup quarterback Jameis Winston. Medical staff attended to Nabers on the sideline and initially listed him as questionable for the rest of the game.
In a positive development for the team, Nabers returned to the game in the second quarter. Following the game, the 23-year-old player explained to reporters he had to pop his shoulder back into place to continue playing. He mentioned, “My shoulder’s okay. Gonna get an X-ray on it, see what’s going on. I was out there, trying to just come back out. We had lost [Jaxson Dart], so I didn’t want to give the team another loss.”
Despite re-entering the field, Nabers’ performance in the matchup was limited. He managed to secure only one catch for one yard during the game’s 28-6 defeat.
The Giants aim to regain their footing as they prepare for their upcoming Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans this Sunday.
