Far-Left Groups Allegedly Organize Protests in Austin

Fox News Digital’s senior investigations editor, Asra Nomani, reports on her team’s investigation into far-left groups that are reportedly organizing protests against ICE across the United States, with the latest demonstrations in Austin, Texas. On ‘America Reports,’ she detailed the findings and the organizations allegedly involved in orchestrating the protests.

A Global Network of Influences

A network of organizations, reportedly funded by pro-communist tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, is accused of orchestrating a series of protests from New York to Austin. These protests occur just as President Donald Trump prepares for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. U.S. lawmakers caution that these displays of unrest could be exploited by China to project turmoil within the United States.

During a recent protest, Jodie Evans, Singham’s wife and co-founder of CodePink, joined activists in front of the United Nations in New York. Alongside CodePink, the protests targeted a range of issues including militarism and alleged environmental devastation caused by the U.S. military.

Concerns Over Foreign Influence

These protests showcase a pattern of quick mobilization related to recent news and political events. Lawmakers argued whether activists might be acting as conduits for foreign adversaries like China. Evans recently praised China’s economic growth, while Singham supported China’s new global order in a recent speech.

Republican lawmakers such as Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) and Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.) expressed concerns over the true nature of these grassroots movements and their funding sources. They stressed the need for transparency and questioned the tax-exempt status of these organizations due to their political activities.

Singham’s Financial Network

Singham has allegedly funneled $285 million through various channels into major nonprofits, media outlets, and activist groups promoting anti-American and pro-China rhetoric. Among these, CodePink received $1.33 million, the People’s Forum $22.44 million, and BreakThrough BT Media $1.098 million, according to a Fox News Digital investigation.

According to sources, there is an investigation into Singham’s financial activities led by the Justice Department in the Southern District of New York. Prosecutors are exploring potential wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering. However, Singham has not been charged with any crime.

The Austin Protests

The protests began in Austin following the shooting of a Venezuelan national, Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez. Several socialist and communist organizations quickly rallied support through a national activist network. Despite being described as organic by some media, lawmakers suggested that a coordinated infrastructure existed behind the scenes.

In response to criticism, the Party for Socialism and Liberation released a video describing the Austin protests as acts of ‘righteous anger.’

Ongoing Activities

Protests continued throughout the week. In New York, CodePink activists, including Evans, linked AI data centers to the military-industrial complex, showcasing environmental activism and other themed protests.

Events are set to continue with protests planned against the U.S. military and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the United Nations.
