Sandra Taylor’s Journey from Playboy Model to Las Vegas Raiders’ Head Sommelier

Sandra Taylor, once a Playboy cover model, is now serving as the head sommelier at Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders. Her story took a pivotal turn thanks to her friendship with Anna Nicole Smith.

A Friendship That Changed Everything

During the 1990s, Sandra Taylor was a renowned Playboy cover girl. Yet, her career in modeling was far from predictable. Her relationship with Anna Nicole Smith, the 1993 Playmate of the Year, played a crucial role in altering her career path. Taylor shared her story on the “Unexpired” podcast, hosted by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Kim Alexis.

“I was friends with Anna Nicole Smith, and she was such a darling,” said Taylor. “We shared two makeup artists. One was in New York, one was in LA. And they introduced us very early on.”

From Math to Modeling

Originally, Taylor aspired to be a mathematician, following in her father’s footsteps. She studied various branches of mathematics before her father’s unexpected death on her college campus altered her path.

“I never went back to that campus again,” she revealed. “The math died along with him, and I just didn’t want to do it anymore.”

Entering Playboy

Thanks to Smith’s encouragement, Taylor pursued an opportunity with Playboy during its 40th anniversary search. This decision marked the beginning of a long-lasting friendship with Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy.

“Even when you do the magazine, it doesn’t end there,” Taylor explained. “I was able to really experience him as a family man, and how kind he was, too.”

A Diverse Modeling Career

Taylor’s modeling experience extended beyond Playboy. She became a sought-after model, even collaborating with Fabio for romance novel covers.

“Shooting the romance covers with Fabio was exactly what you would imagine it would be,” Taylor said. “It was so wonderful.”

Acting and Personal Connections

Beyond modeling, Taylor worked with numerous Hollywood stars, including Steven Seagal and Dan Aykroyd. She recalled Dan Aykroyd’s generosity, noting how he purchased her SAG card for her first movie.

A New Chapter Begins

Today, Taylor has embraced a new role as a professional sommelier. Despite losing her home in the Palisades Fire, she continues to rebuild her life while creating Raider Rosé, a new wine brand.

“I’m proud of the life I’ve led,” Taylor stated. “I’ve faced ups and downs, but I’ve been blessed. And I’m always ready for what life throws at me.”
