On a Wednesday flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, a disturbing incident occurred on FlyDubai Flight 1073. According to UAE officials, the co-pilot attempted to seize control of the aircraft with an intent to execute a terrorist act.
The aircraft was carrying Israeli passengers, who had previously been on a FlyDubai flight that made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. As the plane neared Ben Gurion International Airport close to Tel Aviv, tensions rose in the cockpit.
UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi revealed that the co-pilot used a crash ax in an assault on the captain. This act was aimed at hijacking the plane, as stated in an official communication released on the Emirates News Agency on Saturday.
