At approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, a group of student activists engaged in vandalism at Cornell University. The incident took place at Day Hall, which houses the offices of the university’s senior administrators.
The activists spray-painted messages criticizing the institution’s handling of rape allegations. One of the messages stated, “At Cornell rapists are protected protestors are expelled.” Another message read, “Smash the patriarchy.”
Additionally, the activists caused damage to the building, including smashing windows. This act of protest highlights ongoing tensions and dissatisfaction with how the university addresses serious accusations.
