Corey Pavin, a professional golfer and 1995 US Open champion, has shared that his wife, Lisa, must undergo additional cancer treatments. Lisa, aged 52, initially completed chemotherapy earlier this year, but Pavin announced online that the cancer was not fully eradicated.
On social media, Pavin updated that Lisa is starting a new round of cell-based gene therapy. He noted, “Seven plus months ago, I posted that Lisa had her last chemotherapy. We found out a couple of months ago that her cancer never went away completely.” Despite this challenge, Pavin remains hopeful for Lisa’s recovery.
Lisa’s recent treatments have taken place at The Mayo Clinic. Pavin expressed appreciation for the medical professionals and the support from friends. He wrote, “To the doctors, nurses, and everyone at The Mayo Clinic, a heartfelt thank you for your care and empathy.” The community continues to offer encouragement, with supportive messages from prominent figures such as Troy Aikman, Kenny Lofton, and Teemu Selanne.
Pavin, while supporting his wife, continues to play professional golf. He participated in the Sanford International at Minnehaha Country Club, finishing behind Zach Johnson. The golfing community rallies around the Pavin family during this challenging time.
