Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at the Money in the Bank event held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Fans were deeply engaged throughout the contest, marking it as a key match in Knight’s career.
The crowd initially supported Reigns, but as Knight nearly pinned Reigns several times, audience sentiments began to shift. Knight executed several high-impact moves, including a jumping superplex and the Burning Hammer. Despite this, he could not secure the victory.
Knight showed resilience, enduring multiple Superman punches and countering Reigns’ moves effectively. At one point, he managed to powerbomb Reigns through the announce table outside the ring, leading to several near-pinfalls.
However, Reigns ultimately retained his title. He targeted Knight’s groin and followed up with more Superman punches and a final spear. Reigns maintained a calm and strategic approach, contrasting his recent title defense in Mexico City against Penta.
After the match, a new threat emerged as the group 946 appeared in the crowd, signaling their intention to challenge Reigns. Tension rose as the group clashed with The Usos and Solo Sikoa inside the arena and then retreated with the help of Jaida Parker.
The encounter ended the LA Knight challenge for Reigns and his faction, The Bloodline, but hinted at a pending conflict with the 946 group.
