Authorities arrested Selma Blair following an incident on a flight, as reported by NewsNation. The actress, known for her role in ‘Cruel Intentions,’ was aboard a Delta Air Lines flight heading from LAX to John F. Kennedy International Airport. On the flight, she allegedly attempted to open a plane door midair, hit a flight attendant, and bit another when they intervened, according to TMZ.

TMZ obtained audio of airline dispatch asking for medical personnel to be ready at the gate for treating injuries, such as bite marks and a bloody nose. The audio further mentioned Blair hitting her head on a partition inside the plane.

A flight attendant required hospitalization, confirmed the New York Port Authority. ‘Delta holds a zero-tolerance policy for unruly or unlawful behavior, prioritizing customer and crew safety,’ said the airline in a statement. Blair was taken into custody and brought to a hospital for evaluation. The FBI is looking into the alleged incident.

In a statement to NewsNation, Blair’s representative described her situation as a medical emergency leading to the alleged behavior. She received prompt medical care upon landing and remains in stable condition.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018, Blair, 54, battles a disease that affects the central nervous system, causing potential memory, mobility, mood, and vision issues, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Blair disclosed her remission in 2021. In a 2026 update to TODAY, she reported feeling well, having been free from relapses.

Previously, in 2016, Blair was removed from a flight, citing a ‘total psychotic blackout’ while with her young son. She later called it a ‘big mistake,’ involving alcohol and medication, as per Nexstar’s KTLA.
