Trump’s Comment about Sophie Cunningham at Ohio Rally

1 hour ago 0

During a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, President Donald Trump mentioned Sophie Cunningham, a star player for the Indiana Fever. He described her as ‘beautiful’ and noted that ‘a lot of men [want] to go and watch her.’

Trump acknowledged the political risks of making such comments, stating, ‘You’re not allowed to say that anymore, however, as a politician. Please, please, let me take it back. Anytime a politician says a woman is beautiful, that’s generally the end of his political career in the modern-day politic world.’

The president further remarked on Cunningham’s effect on team attendance, suggesting her presence would benefit ticket sales rather than improve scores. He said, ‘Sophie is a beautiful young woman. You probably wouldn’t mind her on the team, not to help you with points, but to help you with attendance. The attendance would be great.’

Cunningham has been a popular figure with the Fever fans, often standing up for Caitlin Clark in situations involving hard fouls. Her prominence increased following her comments on gender in sports. She stated that biological males should not participate in girls’ and women’s sports, saying, ‘I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men.’
