U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro recently announced that her office is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures. This development adds a new dimension to the scrutiny facing the Minnesota Democrat and her reported multimillion-dollar assets.
During an appearance on Fox News’ ‘America Reports,’ Pirro highlighted the investigation into Omar’s financial statements. These disclosures indicated a significant rise in the value of businesses linked to her husband, Tim Mynett. Reports show these values increased from around $51,000 in 2023 to as much as $30 million in 2024.
This announcement came shortly after federal agents conducted a search of Omar’s Washington, D.C., home. The search is part of an ongoing investigation into her immigration paperwork, according to sources familiar with the probe. The Justice Department confirmed that Homeland Security Investigations agents executed the search under a judicially authorized warrant as part of the federal criminal investigation.
Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Washington, D.C., home was searched by federal agents Monday as part of an ongoing investigation.
The investigation into Omar’s financial disclosures drew attention from congressional Republicans. Key figures, like House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, have requested financial records from two companies linked to Mynett. Earlier this year, Fox News Digital scrutinized the filings, revealing millions in newly reported assets tied to two of Mynett’s business ventures. These include a California-based winery and a Washington, D.C.-based venture capital firm.
The winery, eStCru LLC, showed a valuation increase from $15,000-$50,000 in 2023 to $1 million-$5 million in 2024. Rose Lake Capital LLC exhibited a sharper rise, growing from $1-$1,000 in 2023 to $5 million-$25 million in 2024. Together, these businesses reported values ranging from $15,000-$51,000 in 2023 to $6 million-$30 million in 2024. Financial disclosures report asset values in ranges, not specific amounts, leaving the couple’s exact net worth unclear.
In February, Comer requested documents related to eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital LLC, questioning their substantial reported valuation increases. Omar later amended her financial disclosures in April, adjusting the couple’s reported assets to between $18,004 and $95,000. The revised filing indicated that her husband’s businesses held no net value after accounting for liabilities. Omar’s office claimed the original disclosures provided an inaccurate representation of their finances.
The congresswoman has consistently asserted that she is not a millionaire. In September, the Office of Congressional Conduct recommended dismissing misconduct allegations related to the financial disclosures. The watchdog determined there was insufficient evidence to suggest Omar reported inaccurate or incomplete information, indicating no federal law or House rule violations.
Omar’s office described the findings as vindication, claiming she committed no wrongdoing. This congressional review is separate from the federal investigation Pirro described. Omar’s latest financial disclosure, filed in May, reported assets totaling between $20,000 and $125,000, according to a Minnesota Star Tribune analysis. It also outlined student loan and credit card debt linked to her husband.
Omar has denied wrongdoing accusations and suggested the Trump administration targeted her for political motives, especially following the recent raid on her residence. The Minnesota Democrat remains a frequent target of criticism from President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans.
